The Emanuel and T. Thomas Fortune Scholarship is one of several funding opportunities available to students through the NAACP’s Inspire Initiatives. We award scholarships to exceptional and qualified students. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, we strive to ensure equitable educational opportunities that prepare students for success in school, work, and life. The scholarship is named to honor Emanuel Fortune (1833–1897) and his son, Timothy Thomas Fortune (1856–1928), two distinguished leaders from Jackson County, Florida.
**Scholarship Requirements: **
- Must be a member of the NAACP. If you are not currently a member, please join today.
- Must be enrolled full-time or accepted to an accredited college or university in the U.S.
- Applicable to graduating high school seniors and undergraduate or graduate students.
- Must possess a grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
- Must demonstrate interest in pursuing a career in any field of study.
- Must demonstrate financial need.
- Must be a U.S. resident or citizen.
- Finalists will have a virtual panel interview.
PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED
· Be a resident and/or have a family history in Jackson County, Florida.
