Description

The scholarship award sponsored by Walmart is intended to assist in the creation of a pathway for those who desire to further their education as they enter back into society. This scholarship will be available to the formerly incarcerated or those who have recently been convicted and who have completed their sentence.  This scholarship will be awarded to individuals that can exhibit qualities of leadership, commitment to change, and desire to give back to their community.  

Scholarship requirements:

Applicant must be a U.S. citizen. Applicant must be released from incarceration and/or recently convicted but not sentenced for a crime. Applicant will be enrolled in the Fall semester of 2025 at a public 4-year, 2-year, community college, trade school, or other public educational institution. Applicant must have had no serious disciplinary incidents within the past 12 months. Applicant must have applied for and received all federal, state, and other grants and loans available to them. Applicant does not need to possess a degree to be eligible; applications are encouraged by those with various levels of education
