Description

The scholarship sponsored by Walmart is intended to assist in creating a pathway for those who desire to further their education as they enter society. This scholarship will be available to the formerly incarcerated or those recently convicted who have completed their sentence. It will be awarded to individuals who can exhibit qualities of leadership, commitment to change, and desire to give back to their community.  

Scholarship requirements:

  • Applicant must be a U.S. citizen. 
  • Applicant must be released from incarceration and/or recently convicted but not sentenced for a crime. 
  • Applicant must be enrolled or will enroll in the Fall semester of 2026 at a public four-year, two-year, community college, trade school, or other public educational institution in the U.S.
  • Applicant must have had no serious disciplinary incidents within the past 12 months. 
  • Applicant must have applied for and received all federal, state, and other grants and loans available to them. 
  • Applicant does not need to possess a degree to be eligible; applications are encouraged from those with various levels of education.

This is not a renewable scholarship opportunity.
